Gregory K. Borton

GREGORY K. BORTON, 70, passed away Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Greg was a cook with private clubs and hotels in the U.S. and overseas. He was a military veteran and a member of the American Legion. Over the years, he adopted several Maine Coon Cats. Surviving are his wife, Nina Borton of Hoagland; adopted daughter, Eve Derkach; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Clark and Edna Jean (Fritz) Borton. Service is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, at Lindenwood Cemetery, 2324 W. Main Street. Arrangements by D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave. -

Greg was such fun playing trombone in the marching band.  He would often perform card tricks to the amazement of the guys gathered around trying to figure out how he did his magic.  He helped maintain the large lawns in the Waterswold Addition during the fall when the leaves began to drop.  We made some date money during those weeks of October.  I am sure your great humor and energetic personality will be missed by all who new you.
