Cathy Lynn Smith went to be with her savior on January 27, 2022. Cathy had been fighting cancer for several years . She died peacefully at the Hospice Care facility in Parkview Randallia.

Cathy was born in Fort Wayne, IN on April 18, 1945. She attended North Side High School in Fort Wayne and Indiana University, Bloomington. Cathy majored in geology which gave her a life-long love of the outdoors.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Ida Hartman, by her parents Robert B. Smith and Lillian A. Smith. She is survived by her brother, Geoffrey Smith, his wife Michele, her loving nephew Gentry Smith (his wife Dian and grandson Ravi) her wonderful nieces, Savannah Liffin (and her daughter
Emma), and Caitlin Baker (and her husband Ronnie). Cathy was fortunate to have a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins to enjoy throughout her life.

Cathy enjoyed a varied career which included time in television production, advertising, and finance with Met Life and Charles Schwab. She lived in Fort Wayne, Chicago and Denver before returning to Fort Wayne later in life to provide care and affection for her mother who lived in Georgetowne Place.

Cathy loved all outdoor sports but especially ice skating, golf and long walks. She was a collector of Southwestern art and fossils from the southwest.
