Kenneth Woodward, 68, of Fishers, IN, and a former resident of Huntington, IN, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2014 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, in Florida.

Mr. Woodward graduated from North Side High School, in Fort Wayne, in 1963. He also graduated from Indiana University, earning his Bachelor of Science in 1968 and his Master of Science in 1972.

He taught in the Whitko Community Schools for three years and in the Huntington County Community School Corporation for 33 years, retiring from Huntington North High School in 2004.

He was a member of the Huntington County Teachers Association, Retired Teachers of Huntington County and the Huntington Kiwanis Club. He was also a member of Fishers United Methodist Church and the IU Alumni Association. He served as treasurer and board member for Venetian Park Estates, in Sarasota, FL.

He was born Sept. 9, 1945, in Princeton to Otto and Ethel Shipley Woodward. He married Kathy McConnell on June 29, 1965, in Fort Wayne. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include a son, James (Amy) Woodward, of Fishers; a daughter, Jacqueline (Antonio) Soler, of Issaquah, WA; and two grandsons, Joshua Woodward and Adam Woodward.

Calling is Saturday, March 22, 2014, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, Huntington. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m., with Deacon Don Henry officiating.
