I only knew John from passing him in the hallway at Northside.  After reading his profile, both Jim and I had the pleasure of corresponding with him by e-mail.  I am glad to have shared some time with him and was touched by his sensitivity and kindness.  We have yet one more friend in the cloud of witnesses.

I to am so fortunate to have communicated with John prior to his passing.....thank you cousin Donnie Miller for keeping us informed.  What fun we had at Franklin grade school and Bloomindale.  John was one of the fastest runners on our relay team coached by Mr Castle.  We played ball at Hamilton park and would walk to the North Side football games using the free tickets we received from the coach.  May the good Lord bless you and your family and wrap you in his loving arms, releaving you of your pain and giving you everlasting life.  I will remember you with fondness old friend.

John was such a big part of my teen years. Don and I have good memories of John. He was insightful, intelligent and had a wonderful way with words.

Sympathy to his siblings and cousin, Don Miller, who was so good to him.

May John rest in eternal peace. Dee and Don Elbrecht

It was such a thrill for me to reconnect with John via this website after 50 long years!  We sat beside each other in Mrs. Nussbaum's homeroom (332) for all 4 of our wonderful years at North Side.  He was such a good friend!  He was so personable, smart and full of life.  What good memories the two of us had as true "high school buddies"!  The message site allowed us to share a few things about our lives and the lives of other classmates (such as Charlene Reece, Dave Stillman and Ginny Gaunt).  John had such a way with words!  Just wish we could have talked in person just one more time!  I'm so grateful to Don Miller, John's cousin, for filling me in on John's health conditions these past few months.  It is with great fondness that I remember my dear friend John Stewart.  May he rest in peace.
