Robert Ignacio Nash Moreno

IGNACIO "NASH" MORENO, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017, at the VA Hospital of Southern Arizona, in Tucson, Ariz. Born Sept. 1, 1944, in Cot-ulla, Texas, he was a son of Victor and Lilia (Bena videz) Moreno. Nash was raised by his grandparents, Ignacio and Carlotta Moreno. During the Vietnam War, he served in the U.S. Navy as a radio operator. He will be remembered as an avid storyteller and one who sought out treasures in the remote areas wherever he lived, especially with his best friend, George. He had a gift for finding the most precious people in the area to surround him. Surviving are his daughter, Becky Davis; son, Brian (Heidi) Moreno; three grandchildren, Alicia Davis, Larissa and David (Abby) Moreno; three great- grandchildren, Roxy, Josh and Jordyn; sister, Gloria Perez; brother, Robert Moreno; and sisters, Carlotta Wilson and Irma (Ramiro) Rodriguez. He will be missed by his large family and was fondly called "Uncle Nash" by many. Military service is 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, at the Marion National Cemetery. A celebration of life for friends and family is from noon to 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, at Sugar Grove Church of God, 5019 E 500 S, Churubusco, Ind.
